Married At First Sight star and former Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Lachlan Rofe has died suddenly at the age of 47.
The cattle farmer, who lived on a property in Cawdor near Camden in New South Wales, passed away this week. His death was confirmed by loved ones, with tributes flooding social media in the days since.
NSW Police confirmed in a statement that emergency services were called to a home in Razorback, southwest of Sydney.
“Emergency services were called to a home in Razorback, where they found a man unresponsive. Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR but they were unable to revive him. Investigations are continuing into the circumstances and anyone with any information is urged to contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” the statement read.
Former MAFS groom Ryan Donnelly was among those who paid tribute, writing on Facebook, “Wow that’s tragic. I was born in Camden, very sad to lose a local so young RIP.”
Another person wrote: “Love to the family, Lachlan loved that farm more than life itself. I’m saddened to hear this news.”

“Deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP,” one tribute read, while another simply said: “Geeze that’s terribly sad RIP young fella.”
Another message read, “That is tragic, so young.”
Rofe first found fame in 2015 on the debut season of Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight, where he was paired with Clare Tamas. The following year, he appeared on Farmer Wants A Wife.

After his reality TV stints, Rofe’s personal life often made headlines. He was briefly linked to fellow FWAW contestant Belinda Reid, though the pair split soon after the season aired. He later dated pig hunter Natalie Cepeniuk, who was investigated by RSPCA NSW in 2017 after a controversial post involving a joey.
In 2017, Rofe was convicted of assaulting his then‑girlfriend Casey Williams in front of her young daughter following a drinking session. He was placed on a 12‑month good behaviour bond but appealed the conviction. The following year, the guilty verdict was overturned by a magistrate.
Speaking to media after the ruling, Rofe said: “Being a man of principle, I chose to clear my name.” He also admitted the highly publicised case had left him rattled.
Police investigations into his death are ongoing.
