Tributes have been paid to a "lovely man" who was killed in a road crash last night in Tuebrook.
The pedestrian, in his 50s, was knocked down on Lisburn Lane shortly before 7pm on Tuesday.
He was rushed to hospital with severe injuries but died a short time later.
Today, tributes were paid to the man after the collision involving a Ford Fiesta car, which stopped at the scene.
One woman said: "So sad, poor man, what a shock for his family.
"Feel for the driver too. Rest in peace."
Another added: "It's heartbreaking, he was a lovely man."
This morning, police said their enquiries into the tragedy were ongoing and officers had spoken to the driver who was assisting with enquiries.
The cordon and large police presence had left the scene today as officers continue to appeal for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the crash to contact them.
Anyone who was in the area and witnessed the accident is also urged to speak to investigators.

In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "We’re appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in Tuebrook on Tuesday, 1 December.
"Shortly before 7pm, officers were called to Lisburn Lane following reports of a collision involving a Ford Fiesta and a pedestrian.
"Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting with enquiries.
"Officers are working to formally identify the man and inform his next of kin.
"Road closures remain in place and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to come forward."
Chief Inspector Col Rooney said: “Tragically a man has lost his life following a road traffic collision in Tuebrook, and an investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the collision, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know as it may assist our enquiries.”
