Tony Lawler, from PCT, has led the annual commemoration service since 2009.

He said: “Covid-19 will not stop us, but we have to keep people safe, which is why we have moved online for the official commemoration service this year.

“It is really important that we continue to remember the 71 kids that died on that tragic day.

“It’s our opportunity, both as individuals and, as a community, to offer our condolences to their families and loved ones.

“It is also an opportunity to show our continued support to the survivors and their families.”

The online broadcast will take place at 11am today and can be watched by going to the Paisley Community Trust Facebook page at www.facebook.com/paisleytrust/
