Tribute to 'one in a million' grandad who died after crash on M4

The family of a man who was killed in a four-vehicle crash on the M4 last Thursday (September 24) have released a moving tribute to the 'adored' grandad.

Simon Clover, 50, from Cardiff died after being involved in a crash on the westbound carriageway of the M4 between J17 Chippenham and J18 Bath just after 3.30am.

Mr Clover, known as Clodge to his family and friends, was a passenger of a roads maintenance vehicle that was involved in a crash between another articulated lorry, a car and a van.

He died at the scene of the crash which was one of two fatal collisions in one night along the same stretch of road.

Mr Clover's family have described how well-loved he was by them and his friends saying he was a "young at heart" grandad.

They said in a statement: "Clodge was a loving husband, father and bampy. He was young at heart and such a family man who absolutely adored all his children and grandchildren.

"He was one in a million and had lots of friends who adored him.

"He was a hard worker and quite often worked 7 days a week. He was a keen gardener, loved a game of poker, fishing and going down the river on a kayak.

"He was also a keen Arsenal supporter and would try and go to the matches with his son."
