Tribute to 'kind and gentle' Bristol Big Issue vendor who died on Christmas Eve

Big Issue has paid tribute to a "kind and gentle" vendor who died during the festive period.

Dean Telfer regularly sold copies of the street newspaper outside Co-op Food on Gloucester Road and was a well-known "staple" within the local community.

Big Issue has confirmed today (December 30) that Dean died earlier this month on Christmas Eve.

James Wilkinson, sales and outreach worker for The Big Issue in Bristol, paid tribute to Dean, saying he would be missed by staff, volunteers and customers.

"The Big Issue Bristol team were all really saddened to hear about Dean passing away over Christmas," he said.

"He was always a kind and gentle personality in the office and on his pitch on Gloucester Road, and was a real staple of his community.

"He will be missed by the staff, volunteers, and vendors of Bristol, and I'm sure by many of his customers as well."
