Trialists involved as head coach Ian Burchnall names Notts County team to face AFC Telford

Notts County gave a quartet of trialists another chance to impress this afternoon as they faced AFC Telford this afternoon.

Lamine Keba Sherif, Kyle Bennett, Andre Wright and William Hondermarck were all in the squad named by head coach Ian Burcnall.

The quartet all featured in last weekend's win over Coalville and were hoping to win a deal at Meadow Lane.

Elsewhere the team had a familiar look about it to that victory with Tiernan Brooks in goal behind the back five of Dion Kelly-Evans, Richard Brindley, Adam Chicksen, Damien McCrory and Joel Taylor.

In midfield, Ed Francis was handed his debut after signing in midweek, and the former Manchester City midfielder was deployed in a holding role.

Alongside him were the experienced Jim O'Brien and Bennett.

Up front, Elisha Sam was handed his first start of pre-season, and he was joined by former Ayr United striker Wright.

On the bench were a host of first-team players, with Callum Roberts the standout name as the former Newcastle winger continues his comeback from injury.

Also among the subs was new signing Matt Palmer while trialists Hondermarck and Kaba Sherif would be hoping to play some part as they look to secure a move to the Magpies.
