A nightclub event will take place next month as part of Ireland's roadmap towards reopening, the Irish Mirror understands.
The full details of how Ireland exits its' last lockdown will become clearer when the Government meet on Monday to finalise the roadmap and when Taoiseach Micheál Martin addresses the nation
With crowds of 40,000 having packed into Croke Park in recent weeks, the live entertainment sector have pleaded with the Government to allow indoor concerts and gigs.
They will get their wish at the end of September, as an industry source has told the Irish Mirror that a pilot night is being planned for the Button Factory.
The Temple Bar venue will not be at full capacity however, as the industry begins to reopen for the first time in over a year and a half.
Instead of being limited to those who are vaccinated, attendees will have to take a PCR test both before and after the event, with the potential for details being taken to help with contact tracing.
Pressure has ramped up on the Government since thousands of people crammed onto streets and outside bars in Dublin on multiple occasions for All-Ireland football and hurling championship matches.
A spokesperson for Minister Catherine Martin said that the Department is "looking at the future of events and one does include a pilot nightclub event and the Minister hopes decisions will be made shortly."
There has been no indication as of yet as to what musician or DJ will be performing on the evening, or how the ticketing process will work for attendees.
