Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Harris Avenue, Rumney, at 3.25pm on April 13.

Taylor Patterson, 21, suffered injuries believed to have been caused by a machete and a shotgun.

Hassan, 32, from Grand Avenue in Ely, Cardiff, who was represented by Owen Williams, is charged with attempted murder.

Legall, 25, from Tatem Drive in Fairwater, Cardiff, represented by Kevin Seal, is charged with attempted murder and failing to disclose a passcode to a phone.

The defendants have not yet entered pleas and a provisional trial date has been set for October 12.
