Trey Quinn pegged as breakout player to watch

Could Washington Redskins wideout Trey Quinn be one of the NFL’s next breakout players?

The so-called Mr. Irrelevant didn’t get a ton of playing time last year after suffering an injury, but an opportunity may certainly present itself next season.

Using some collegiate data, Pro Football Focus likes Quinn as a breakout candidate:

Interesting numbers, to say the least. With Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson disappointing last year, Quinn could find himself with more chances as a sophomore.

If he does, that ability to find holes in the defense and shake free for yardage will be quite useful for whoever lines up as the starting quarterback. Given the unknown status of Alex Smith and the potential for a free agent or rookie to be the starter next year, Quinn’s reliability could play a big role in how the season plays out.
