Trey Quinn looking to ‘make a splash’ vs. Cowboys

It sounds like Washington Redskins wide receiver Trey Quinn is ready for a breakout game of his own.

Speaking at his Thursday presser, head coach Jay Gruden signaled Quinn as one of the guys ready to step up.

Via Ryan Fowler of the team’s official website: “To counter that he highlighted the weapons within the Redskins offense, saying Trey Quinn is looking to ‘make a splash’, as other guys look to also step up.”

After plenty of hype this offseason, Quinn didn’t’ get a ton of work in the Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles He saw six targets and caught four of them for 33 yards and a score.

That seems timid compared to the breakout for rookie Terry McLaurin, who caught five passes for 125 yards and a score to lead the team in receiving.

With McLaurin now firmly on the radar of opposing defenses, it only makes sense the coaching staff would expect a slot talent like Quinn to start having breakout games of his own.
