Trey Quinn is an X-Factor for the Redskins’ receiving corps

List the position groups in Washington that inspire the least amount of confidence…did you put the wide receivers first? Probably.

The receiving corps for the Redskins are an unproven mess. Their workhorse in Jamison Crowder is gone, and what’s left is a group of young players who have not been able to yet garner a positive rep in the NFL. If you are to listen to Redskins coach Jay Gruden, though, that is about to change after this year.

One of the bright spots on the Washington offense so far this year has been slot-receiver, Trey Quinn. He is expected to see a bulk of snaps after Crowder vacated the position, and many are hoping that he can help fill that void and help whoever is manning the QB position.

“Trey Quinn has taken over the inside slot role,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said, via NBC Sports.
”He’s confident, he’s quick, he’s got strong hands, he’s physical, [and] he’s tough,”

Quinn played in just three games during 2018, with nine catches, one touchdown catch, and one viral celebration.

The biggest concern for Quinn is durability, as he was placed on the Injured Reserve list twice during his rookie year. If he is able to find a way to stay healthy, Quinn could prove to be a huge bonus for the Redskins offense. Lucky for all of us—we can’t wait to see more of those touchdown dances.
