Trevor Noah eviscerates Michael Bloomberg's campaign spending after Super Tuesday debacle

Trevor Noah made fun of Michael Bloomberg’s campaign spending in a live Super Tuesday segment, when it became clear the billionaire was having a bad night.

The segment aired as it was reported that Bloomberg was considering dropping out of the 2020 presidential race – a prediction that has now come true.

Noah poked fun at Bloomberg’s lavish spending after a series of clips highlighted some of the then-candidate’s most extravagant expenses, such as $500m in ads ahead of Super Tuesday.

“Mike Bloomberg has spent over half a billion dollars trying to win this nomination,” the host said.

“But all that money seems to have bought him is people digging up skeletons from his past and the debates where Elizabeth Warren completely burnt him to the ground.”

He then played a medley of news reports hinting at Bloomberg’s impending decision to abandon his bid for the presidency.

“I actually feel bad for this guy,” Noah said ironically.

“Think about it, he came into this race with $60bn and now he has, what – $59.5bn?

“I would not want to be him right now.”

Bloomberg quit the presidential race on Wednesday and has now endorsed Joe Biden.

Four Democrats (Biden, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, and Elizabeth Warren) remain in the running for the nomination.
