Trevor Lawrence shares social justice statement on behalf of college football players

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is lending his voice and influence to the cause of social justice, sharing a statement on social media on behalf of college football players who want to make meaningful change in the fight against racism and inequality.

Along with many professional athletes, some of the biggest names in college sports have also become more vocal about social issues in recent months, in large part as a response to specific instances of police brutality, including the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain.

The statement shared by Lawrence details a specific action plan that college football players believe will help fight against racism, inequality and police brutality.

Joe Burrow, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has also been vocal throughout the summer on these issues, calling for an end to racism and social injustice.
