Trespassers on train tracks cause problems between Leeds and York

Trespassers on the train tracks in Leeds have caused disruption to services between Leeds and Selby/York, National Rail has warned.

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel following the incident earlier this afternoon (Friday).

An incident report from National Rail reads: "Trespassers on the railway in the Leeds area earlier today are causing disruption between Leeds and Selby / York.

"Trains are now beginning to return to normal, however, may still be cancelled, delayed or revised whilst service recovers."

Disruption was expected until 3pm, with warnings of further delays or cancellations.

Passengers can check their journey using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
