Trentbarton investigating crash between bus and van in Nottingham city centre which left woman in hospital

Trentbarton are investigating after a crash involving one of its buses and a van left two injured and one woman in hospital.

The crash was reported in Greyfriar Gate, close to Maid Marian Way, at around 1pm on Tuesday, July 9.

The van involved in the crash was part of Nottingham City Council's fleet and the front of the vehicle had been badly damaged.

A woman involved in the crash was taken to Queen's Medical Centre with minor injuries, police confirmed.

The driver of the van, a man, was treated at the scene, also for minor injuries.

The bus involved was a trentbarton Mainline service.

A trentbarton spokesperson said: “We are investigating this, as we do all accidents. Our drivers are trained to the very highest of standards and are well regarded as the best in the business.

"On the public highway incidents sometimes do occur and, when they do, we review them along with the team members involved in order to learn any lessons and further improve.”

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman confirmed no arrests had been made after the crash.
