There is yet to be any definitive confirmation from the Washington Redskins, but according to a couple of reporters around the league, it appears that LT Trent Williams underwent minor surgery on Thursday.
According to NBC Sports JP Finlay, and confirmed by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Williams went under the knife on Thursday to clean up the area around an original scar that was left from a tumor-removal procedure earlier this year.
All of this started when Williams posted a video to his Instagram story just after 8 a.m. that showed doctors and nurses likely prepping for surgery. There was no dialogue in the video, other than background music provided by Lil Durk.
If we are to trust Rapoport and believe that this was indeed minor, it should have no ramifications on a setback or potential elongated holdout. Get healthy soon, Trent. The Redskins will need you come August.
