Trent Williams says the growth on his head was cancerous; ‘lost all trust’ with Redskins

For the first time in months, Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams spoke with the media on Thursday afternoon.

In the discussion, Williams opened up about his life over the past year, confirming that the growth that he had removed from his scalp earlier in 2019 was cancerous, and it had been slowly growing for six years. When the medical staff first found the growth years ago, the assured Williams that it was minor.

Williams went on to discuss his relationship with the Redskins organization, and said that he had lost all trust for the franchise, largely based off of his relationship with the team’s medical staff as they monitored the growth over the past years.

Through all of the turmoil this season, however, Williams said that he has still watched all of the teams’ games, and that he still thinks of many of the players like family. He was also disappointed to see Jay Gruden fired earlier this season.
