Trent Brown explains what he’ll take from time with Tom Brady

Tom Brady made an impression on left tackle Trent Brown, who spent just one season with the New England Patriots. Brown explained what he took away from that season while working with Brady.

“Definitely just how he (Brady) speaks life into that huddle,” Brown said Thursday on FOX Sports 1’s “First Things First.” “He commands the huddle, and when you break the huddle you’re ready to play for sure.”

Brown added: “There’s only one example to give: just lead by example day in and day out,” Brown said. “How he approaches the day, how he approached practice. …He’s just taking advantage of all time. Every rep counts for sure. Even when we go from offensive period to defensive period (in practice) he’s finding something to do, something to work on.”

Brown joined the Patriots in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers during the 2018 offseason. While playing on the final year of his deal last season, Brown transitioned from right tackle in San Francisco to left tackle in New England. He was solid in 2018, and hit free agency this offseason, when he signed a record-breaking contract with the Oakland Raiders.
