Trent Bridge based team close to announcing Stephen Fleming as they close on women's team coach

Stephen Fleming is set to be named as the head coach of the Trent Bridge based team in the Hundred by the end of the month.

The former Nottinghamshire and New Zealand captain has long since been the preferred candidate to lead the team, which is likely to be known as Trent Rockets.

Fleming, who played for Notts between 2005 and 2007, is the current coach of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and previously coached Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.

While the coach for the men's team is decided, a coach for the women's side is yet to be put in place.

Former England international Danielle Hazell was this week been named as coach of the Leeds-based team, with Australian Lisa Keightley heading up the Lord's-based side -  and it is hoped a woman will coach the East Midlands franchise.

Four Australians - Shane Warne, Simon Katich and Andrew McDonald - will coach teams, with South African Gary Kirsten also landing a head coach's job. No Englishmen have been hired as a head coach.
