Trent Boult becomes second-highest wicket-taker in powerplay in the history of IPL

NEW DELHI: After an outstanding performance in Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) in Chennai, Rajasthan Royals' left-arm seamer Trent Boult ascended to the position of the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history during the powerplay overs.

Boult's impressive spell saw him claim three crucial wickets while conceding 45 runs in his allotted four overs.

This pivotal display in the ongoing 17th edition of the IPL elevated Boult's total powerplay wickets to 62, placing him just behind the seasoned bowler from SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who leads with 71 wickets in the initial six overs.

Joining Boult in the list of top wicket-takers in the IPL 2024 powerplay are familiar names like Bhuvneshwar (10 wickets), Mitchell Starc (9 wickets), Vaibhav Arora (8 wickets), and Khaleel Ahmed (8 wickets), further highlighting the competitive edge and skill on display in the league.
