Trent Alexander-Arnold tells Jadon Sancho to snub Man Utd transfer for Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold has told "special" Jadon Sancho to snub Manchester United for Liverpool - saying he would make Jurgen Klopp's team better.

England winger Sancho is expected to be one of the hottest transfer properties of the summer, despite the financial impact of coronavirus on the world of football.

Sancho is being targeted by United, Chelsea and Real Madrid, while Barcelona have also joined the race for the Borussia Dortmund star, according to reports from Germany.

Liverpool have also been linked with the £100million-rated ace - and Reds right-back Alexander-Arnold has urged his Three Lions teammate to join the runaway Premier League leaders and world and European champions.

"If he came to us, he’d make our team better," Alexander-Arnold told Michael Dapaah on Instagram Live.

"So I’d be more than happy for him to come. I played with him for England and he’s a special, special, special, special talent."

United already have a lucrative deal on the table for Sancho and have set aside for him the No7 shirt previously worn by the greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Bryan Robson, David Beckham and George Best.

A key stumbling block in negotiations could be the transfer fee, as Dortmund are hopeful of raking in excess of £100million.

United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has already warned it won't be "business as usual" at Old Trafford this summer in light of the current coronavirus crisis.

And Dortmund have already made it clear they will not accept less than their asking price for the winger, regardless of the economic landscape.

With the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic set to be felt across Europe and beyond, any of Sancho's suitors will have to think long and hard before matching Dortmund's price.

However, Barcelona are considering offering a Dortmund a swap deal for Sancho with their own rising star, Ansu Fati, according to German publication Sport Bild.

The Bundesliga side are believed to have the Barca winger in their sights should Sancho leave, and that could work in the Catalans' favour.
