Trent Alexander-Arnold shrugged off claims he is a "legend" after helping Liverpool to Champions League glory.
The 20-year-old played a key role as the Reds beat Tottenham 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid.
Twelve months on from being beat by Real Madrid in heartbreaking fashion in Kiev, the Reds bounced back to conquer Europe for the sixth time.
Despite his tender years, Alexander-Arnold started both games, but insisted he is "just a normal lad from Liverpool" after it was put to him that he has become a legend on Merseyside.
"It's hard to even put into words what's just happened and the celebrations that are going to happen tonight," the England defender told BT Sport.
"The season we've had, I think we've deserved it more than any other team and I think the run that we've had, we've beat everyone in our path and we've done something special again tonight.
"Obviously an early goal and a late goal, that's finished them off, and we've probably been dominated by the main part of the game but we've shown that we're a world class side, we can win anyway.
"I don't think any of us were even bothered about that (three week break).
"When we look back on tonight we won't think it was a sluggish game, we'll just think we've won the European Cup and we've done it for all these fans.
"It's hard to think of myself as a legend.
"Obviously for me, I'm just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dream has just come true."
