Trent Alexander-Arnold reportedly set for England recall after Liverpool's winning start to the season

Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly in line for an England recall ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifiers.

The Liverpool right-back missed Euro 2020 through a thigh injury in England’s final pre-tournament friendly against Austria.

Gareth Southgate is set to name his squad on Thursday for the Three Lions’ qualifiers against Hungary, Andorra and Poland and Alexander-Arnold is set to be included, according to The Guardian .

Alexander-Arnold had been one of four right-backs controversially included in the England manager’s provisional 33-man squad for this summer’s tournament, prior to his injury.

Facing competition from Kyle Walker, Reece James and Kieran Trippier, the 22-year-old is not a guaranteed starter on international duty, despite being one of the best in the world in his position.

Looking to add to his 13 caps, Alexander-Arnold will be looking to make the right-back spot his own as England continue their qualifying campaign, heading towards a World Cup year.

Having started both league games so far for Jurgen Klopp’s side, Liverpool have enjoyed a strong start to the season, taking maximum points and are one of four sides yet to concede a goal.

There are unlikely to be many alterations to the squad that guided England to the Euro 2020 final last month, with Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood reportedly set to be included.

That could mean that Alexander-Arnold will be alongside Jordan Henderson on international duty, with the Liverpool skipper making his first appearance in a Reds shirt since February last weekend.
