Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold has opened up about his controversial handball in Liverpool's 3-2 win at Newcastle United.
The Liverpool full-back denied a clear goal for Newcastle's Salomon Rondon when he used his arm to block a shot on the goal line.
Newcastle immediately netted the rebound as Christian Atsu latched onto the free ball to cancel out Virgil van Dijk's opener, but Magpies players were furious, believing Alexander-Arnold should have been sent off .
The 20-year-old went on to set up Liverpool's second, with Jurgen Klopp's side eventually winning 3-2 to return to the top of the Premier League.
But Alexander-Arnold insisted he was not cheating, saying it was "just instinct" as the ball hit his arm "very quick".

"My arm hasn't flown and attack the ball, it has just stayed by my side."
To the letter of the law, Alexander-Arnold should have been shown a yellow card for the hand ball and playing on and giving the goal was the right decision.

After Alexander-Arnold set up Mo Salah to restore Liverpool's lead, Rondon finally got his goal to make it 2-2 and have Liverpool fans fearing Manchester City would still be at the top of the table.
But Divock Origi - on for the injured Salah - popped up with a late dramatic winner.
Alexander-Arnold said referee Andre Marriner did not spot a foul on him in the build-up to the second goal.

He said: "If you look back for their second goal you will see a foul on me in the lead up where I was tripped off the ball.
"That wasn't seen so it all probably worked out evens at the end of the day."
Alexander-Arnold gave a man-of-the-match performance having also created Van Dijk's opener.
Manchester City will go back to the top of the Premier League table by a point if they win at home to Leicester on Monday.
