Trent Alexander-Arnold names player who could help Liverpool deal with injury crisis after Spurs win

Trent Alexander-Arnold says nothing changed for Liverpool in their approach to Thursday's win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds got back to winning ways in impressive style as they ran out 3-1 winners in North London, with Alexander-Arnold getting on the scoresheet and setting another up.

Speaking post-match on BT Sport, the right-back said the Reds have had the same mentality in matches despite their poor run of form going into the game.

He said: "Nothing’s really changed, I think we’re the same team as we always have been, we have the same mentality going into games. Really, we’re going into games and we have the expectation on ourselves that we should be winning them.

"That happened today, we were up for the game and everyone was great, no-one put a foot wrong. Unbelievable game and it’s always good to get the three points as well."

Alexander-Arnold was chosen as Man of the Match by broadcaster BT Sport but praised Joel Matip''s performance in the game, with the centre-back being replaced at half-time by Nat Phillips due to injury.

He said: "We’ve had setback after setback, especially in the centre-back area, but he’s done a great job in the first-half and then Nat has come on and done an unbelievable job again. It just goes to show the quality we have all around the pitch.

"It’s always good to get a goal and help out with the win."

He added: "It’s what we needed, it’s what we deserved as well.

"We dominated most of the game, they obviously had the early goal disallowed which probably would’ve changed the way the game went on. But we’ve come here with a game plan and executed it perfectly.

"It was a bit tough when they scored, but we deserved the win today."
