Trent Alexander-Arnold makes favourite players admission ahead of transfer window

Trent Alexander-Arnold has named Kevin De Bruyne and Heung-min Son as his two dream Liverpool signings ahead of the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old is part of a Reds team enjoying a spectacular season but manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to bolster his squad next month as they bid to win another Premier League title.

And Klopp's right-back could have some recommendations, having faced a host of stars throughout his five-and-a-half years in the English top flight.

But if any of them were rock up at Anfield next month, Alexander-Arnold hopes it would be De Bruyne and Son, who ply their trade for rivals Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

Asked on Premier League Uncut who his two dream signings for Liverpool would be if he had the sufficient budget, the England defender was sure of his picks.

"De Bruyne because I admire him a lot as a player," he began. "His vision, his technique, his accuracy.

"Outstanding player. The assists and the chances created he does is frightening."

And on Son, Alexander-Arnold added: "Again, an outstanding player. The speed, finishing and composure."

Thankfully for the full-back, the man he named as his toughest ever opponent, Eden Hazard, no longer plays in the Premier League.

Of the Belgian's qualities, Alexander-Arnold said: "Very skilful and quick. He didn’t really have many weaknesses to be honest.

"He’d mastered his game to perfection. By the time I came up against him, he was an all-round player exceptional in many aspects of the game.

"So really difficult to deal with."

But the Reds star is worthy of praise himself, recently receiving a heap from none other than Manchester United legend Gary Neville, who compared him to City's De Bruyne.

"Alexander-Arnold is an absolute phenomenon when it comes to the quality of his passing, his delivery," Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.

"It’s something I’ve never seen before from a full-back.

"It’s like De Bruyne, it’s [David] Beckham, it’s [Steven] Gerrard, and they’re attacking players.

"He’s playing at right-back, it’s the highest accolade I could pay him."

Neville also believes his full-back partnership with Andy Robertson is the Premier League's best, comparing them to Brazilian World Cup -winning legends Cafu and Roberto Carlos.

"They were exceptional, but these two… I don't think I've seen two full-backs play in the Premier League that are as good as these two as a pair," the Old Trafford legend affirmed.

"The way in which they combine on the pitch, the way they play the game, they're an absolute joy."
