Trent Alexander-Arnold kept the promise he made to Liverpool fans last year

Liverpool's homegrown starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold made a promise to Liverpool fans in 2018 - a promise which he has now fulfilled.

The right-back made his own childhood dream come true on Saturday night as he helped the Reds win their sixth European cup in Madrid.

Goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi sealed a famous 2-0 triumph for Jurgen Klopp's side.

By winning the Champions League against Tottenham, Alexander-Arnold delivered on his year long promise to Liverpool fans.

Following his time with the at last year's World Cup in Russia, the youngster shared a picture of himself and team-mate Jordan Henderson.

In the post which he shared to Instagram he promised: "Learnt a lot from this man over the course of this tournament!

"Been a pleasure Skip, quick break for us then it’s time to bring silverware back to Anfield!"

The 20-year-old certainly kept this promise, and although Liverpool came agonisingly close to winning the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp's side delivered the most prestigious silverware of all.

And Alexander-Arnold, the youngest player to feature in back-to-back finals, was an instrumental part in the Reds' European success.
