Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jurgen Klopp have agreed that Liverpool youngster Owen Beck is a super talent.
It comes after the 19-year-old was given a chance to shine in a pre-season friendly when he came on for Andy Robertson on Sunday.
The Scotland international was left crumpled in a heap after an awkward turn against Athletic Bilbao.
In front of a concerned Anfield crowd, the defender was ushered off the pitch after several minutes of treatment that spells bad news.
At the very least, Robertson is expected to miss Liverpool's opener against Norwich this weekend in their Premier League opener as the club awaits a scan.
But with the former Hull star missing, there is a chance for another to shine and that could go to Beck - with the teenager already gaining some plaudits from two big figures at Anfield.
Speaking about the academy graduate, Alexander-Arnold said: “He’s impressed a lot of us with the way he is.
"He’s still growing, he’s still maturing as a lad, he’s got a lot to learn but the signs are there that he’s going to be a top player.
“He’s obviously got Robbo and Kostas ahead of him - hopefully being in and around them he’ll be able to pick up things and learn from them. He got the opportunity and took it.”
It backed up Klopp's earlier comments on Beck, who is in agreement with Alexander-Arnold on the full-back.
"Owen is a super talent, I'm really excited about him," Klopp told LFCTV after the match on Sunday.
Whether that is enough to warrant a spot in the first-team ahead of this weekend remains to be seen, though.
Kostas Tsimikas was brought in as back-up to Robertson last summer but even he has struggled to get into the side.
James Milner has been used as a left-back, too, who is highly-rated by Klopp and is renowned for his incredible fitness - even at 35.
Liverpool play one more pre-season match before the start of the Premier League when they take on Osasuna on Monday.
And Klopp has already confirmed that Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara - who have been absent through an extended holiday - will be involved.
“Yeah that’s the plan,” he said.
“They trained both this morning and they will have a few minutes tomorrow night for sure – or I hope, at least.”
There has been talk of a contract dispute between Liverpool and Henderson, who helped England to the Euro 2020 final this summer before losing to Italy on penalties.

Thiago has been with Spain during the same tournament, though they were knocked out by the eventual champions in the semi-final, also via penalties.
Klopp added: “They look good in training but of course their pre-season starts now pretty much so that’s a bit later than the others.
“So we have to consider that, but yeah tomorrow we will see them.”
