A tradition for many Geordie families is fish and chips on Good Friday but a chippy in the North East is launching a very tasty offer to tuck into before then.
Trenches, in Whitley Bay's revamped Spanish City, is sure to attract loads of interest for its deal, which is offering customers a portion of cod and chips for just £1.
Yep, you heard that right...fish and chips for a quid!
From 5 - 8pm on Friday, April 12, you can take away the bargain cod and chips, but with a post about the almost too good to be true offer already attracting loads of attention on Facebook with still well over a week to go, you'd be avised to get in quick as we predict there will be queues!
There is a bit of small print. The portions will be restricted to 4 per customer and there will only be 400 available.
The offer is being launched to mark the fact that Trenchers' takeaway is now open 7 days a week. Trenchers of Whitby was recently crowned the UK’s Best Fish & Chip Restaurant 2019.
Spanish City is set to be a must-visit place over the Easter period, as The Links will also play host to a massive family funfair.
