Tremont Waters named Player of the Month for G League

Per an official announcement from the Maine Red Claws (h/t NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg), Boston Celtics rookie point guard Tremont Waters — a two-way player who will spend the majority of his time with the Maine Red Claws this season — has been named the Player of the Month for the NBA G League in November.

The Red Claws compiled 7-2 record in November with their only two losses coming with Waters out of the lineup. Per the team’s announcement, the 5-foot-10 floor general is just the second player to earn that honor in franchise history.

A dynamic pick-and-roll player with a knack for scoring outside, Waters has averaged 22.3 points, 7.7 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game, shooting 45.0% from the field and 40.3% from three-point range.

Per the G League’s official league leaders, Waters ranks in the top-15 in scoring average, the top-five in average assists and the top-30 in average steals.
