Per Alex Ceneviva of WTNH’s News 8, Ed Waters — the father of rookie point guard Tremont Waters — passed away on Thursday night in a Super 8 motel located in West Haven, CT in an apparent suicide.
Per NBC Connecticut, West Haven police confirm that the 49-year-old Waters was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
As you might expect, Tremont — who starred at Notre Dame High School in his hometown of New Haven, CT — has yet to comment on his father’s unfortunate and premature passing. Waters signed a two-way contract with the Celtics at the beginning of the week.
