'Treated horribly' - Tottenham fans say same thing about Joe Rodon and Eric Dier as Aston Villa team news revealed

Tottenham fans have been left scratching their heads after Wales star Joe Rodon was left out of the Spurs' starting XI to face Aston Villa on Sunday.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has chopped and changed his defensive backline since his arrival in north London, and although Rodon has been injured for spells so far this term, the Portuguese doesn't seem to favour the former Swansea City centre-back at present.

Spurs have been a shambles at the back during their last three Premier League outings - losing 3-0 to Crystal Palace, 3-0 to Chelsea and 3-1 to Arsenal.

Rodon has played in three matches since his return to the squad and has put on decent performances in all of them, yet hasn't been given his chance to play in the Premier League this season since his substitute appearance against the Eagles.

He been getting some game-time in the Europa League fixtures, but was left on the bench again for the visit of Villa despite the indifferent form of Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Cristian Romero.

Supporters have now had their say about Rodon's continued absence from league line-ups, with Dier and Romero getting the nod this afternoon. Many fans would like to see the Welshman replace the Englishman in the team going forward.

Rodon was included in Rob Page's Wales squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Czech Republic and Estonia.

Spurs: Lloris(c), Dier, Romero, Emerson Royal, Reguilón, Højbjerg, Skipp, Ndombele, Lucas Moura, Son, Kane
