Tre Flowers tops Seahawks in NFL’s performance-based pay distributions

The NFL has announced the performance-based pay distributions for the 2018 season and rookie cornerback Tre Flowers tops the list for the Seattle Seahawks and lands at number eight league-wide.

Performance-based pay is a benefit collectively bargained for that compensates rookies and veterans based on playing time and salary levels and is held in a fund prior to the distributions at the conclusion of each season.

An idex is used to determine the amount of pay and is calculated by dividing a player’s regular-season playtime (total plays on offense, defense and special teams) by his adjusted regular-season compensation (full season salary, prorated portion of signing bonus, earned incentives) and then compared to those of his teammates.

Based on his index, Flowers will receive $337,399 in performance-based pay for his rookie services in 2018.

Players around the league will receive distributions that total $140.88 million from the fund in supplemental compensation. The top-25 earners can be found here.
