Trayveon Williams wants to have ‘day one impact’ with Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals sixth-round pick Trayveon Williams is motivated to get going.

Williams fell in the draft and let the world know about it right after the event, saying the “league will pay.” Based on his incredible highlight reel, that could end up being very true.

To start rookie minicamp, Williams took the opportunity to elaborate on his comments, as captured by Fox 19’s Jeremy Rauch above.

“In the draft I didn’t go as high as I wanted or where I was projected,” Williams said, according to Bengals.com. “At this point I’m not trying to prove the league wrong. I just want to prove the Bengals right for believing in me.”

Williams has some work to do if he’s going to break into the rotation featuring Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard. But denying a guy who ran for almost 1,800 yards with 18 touchdowns last season could prove difficult.

At the least, Williams is letting his intentions known as his career gets started.
