Trayce Jackson-Davis seen working out with Warriors

On June 22, the Golden State Warriors added Trayce Jackson-Davis to their roster with the 57th pick in the draft. Unfortunately, the 6’10” forward has been dealing with a hamstring injury and has missed Golden State’s first few Summer League games.

However, on July 9, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle posted a video to Twitter showing Jackson-Davis working out with his teammates and moving well. Holmes also noted that Jackson-Davis would not participate in Golden State’s July 9 contest against the New Orleans Pelicans.

At present, Jackson-Davis is one of the tallest players on the Warriors’ roster as they continue to search for additional size in free agency.

Currently, there is no timeframe set for Jackson-Daivs’ debut for the Warriors, as the franchise looks to bring him along slowly and ensure his hamstring does not continue to be a lingering problem throughout his rookie years.

Last season, Jackson-Davis participated in 32 games for the Indiana Hoosiers, averaging 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 4 assists, shooting 58.1% from the field. It will be interesting to see how Steve Kerr looks to utilize Golden State’s latest rookie, as he seldom attempted a perimeter jump shot during his collegiate career.

The Warriors now have a short break in Las Vegas and won’t be back in action until Wednesday, July 12, when they will face the Dallas Mavericks. Fans will likely be hoping that Jackson-Davis will be closer to making his Summer League debut so that they can get a closer look at their team’s latest recruit.

Fortunately, the play of Brandin Podziemski and Lester Quinones has been providing Warriors fans with plenty to talk about since Summer League got underway.
