Travis Scott has launched a new event safety initiative, describing it as 'a multi-tier, long-term series of community-focused philanthropy and investment effort'.
Four months after the Astroworld tragedy, which left 10 people dead, Kylie Jenner's partner revealed his latest venture, Project HEAL, on Instagram on Tuesday night.
The rapper, 30, explained how he had spent recent months taking the "space to grieve, reflect and do my part to heal my community" as he announced his new project to his 44.6million followers.
Travis also pledged to "honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy" who he says will remain in his heart forever.
Over 50,000 music fans had gathered in Texas for the event on November 5, but when Travis took to the stage at 9pm, the large crowd surged forward.
Several people lost their lives after the crush, with one of the youngest victims being nine-year-old Ezra Blount.
One of the four initiatives listed on Project HEAL's site states it "will address safety challenges for large-scale live events, including funding the US Conference of Mayors Task Force of Event Safety and a tech product solution currently in development."
Speaking on his Instagram page on Tuesday night, Travis wrote: "Over the past few months I’ve been taking the time and space to grieve, reflect and do my part to heal my community.
"Most importantly, I want to use my resources and platform moving forward towards actionable change. This will be a lifelong journey for me and my family."
He continued: "While it’s easy for corporations and institutions to stay in the shadows, I feel as a leader in my community, I need to step up in times of need.
"My team and I created Project HEAL to take much needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be. I will always honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy who remain in my heart forever."
Travis concluded with: "Giving back and creating opportunities for the youth is something I’ve always done and will continue to do as long as I have the chance.
"This program will be a catalyst to real change and I can’t wait to introduce the rest of the technology and ideas we’ve been working on. See you all so soon."
Khloe Kardashian was one of the first to comment on the post, telling her sister's beau: "We love you."
According to the official website for Project Heal, Travis will be personally backing the initiative with his own funds.
"Project HEAL is backed by a multi-million dollar funding commitment from Travis Scott, and a portion of proceeds from his upcoming product launches will also go towards HEAL," a section on the home page reads.
The rapper's new community-focused project has also pledged to donate $1million in scholarships to those struggling financially throughout their higher education.
" The Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund will grant $1M in scholarships to seniors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities who have reached academic excellence (averaging 3.5 or higher GPA) but who are facing the last-minute challenge of financial adversity in their second semester senior year and risk not graduating," Initiative 1 of Project HEAL states.
"The scholarships will help bring 100 HBCU students over the finish line, diploma in hand. This is the second year that Scott has supported HBCUs and represents a tenfold increase."
The additional initiatives include Travis, in conjunction with the Cactus Jack Foundation, funding an expansion of the CACT.US Youth Design Centre in Texas, and a focus on providing free mental health resources.
