Travis Kelce’s ex has seemingly reacted after fans speculated she was the subject of Taylor Swift’s new song “Opalite”, lifted from her album The Life of a Showgirl.
Swifties were sent into a tizzy on Friday upon the release of her 12th studio album, with “Opalite” one of multiple tracks poured over and feverishly dissected as fans sought to identify who the pop star was singing about.
Since no one rivals Sherlock Holmes quite like a pop stan, it wasn’t long before fans theorised that the song was referencing Kayla Nicole, who dated Kelce before his whirlwind romance and eventual engagement to Swift.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, Nicole shared a throwback clip from the 2004 season of America’s Next Top Model in which host Tyra Banks asks contestant Eva Marcille how she “compare[s] herself to other girls out there”.
“I don’t compare myself to other girls,” Marcille replied. “I’m Eva, I’m no comparison to anyone else.”
While vague — and not yet confirmed to be related to Swift — Nicole’s post about comparison comes fresh off the heels of what many fans believed was a subtle reference to Nicole in “Opalite”, since the song mentions someone who is “in her phone”.

If you recall, a resurfaced clip of Kelce while he was dating Nicole sees him asking her to “get off your phone”, which was all the evidence fans needed to connect the lyric in “Opalite” to Nicole.
Whether or not Nicole was addressing the rumour with the ANTM throwback is anyone’s guess — it could be a message to Swift about comparison, or simply some personal words of affirmation — but she wasn’t the only star apparently referenced in The Life of a Showgirl.
Seventh track “Actually Romantic” has been dominating the discourse this week, courtesy of widespread speculation it’s a diss track aimed at Charli xcx.
While there’s plenty of lore suggesting that to be the case (get the rundown HERE), Swift spoke only vaguely about the song’s message. “[It’s] a song about realising that someone else has kind of had a one-sided, adversarial relationship with you that you didn’t know about,” Swift said.

“All of a sudden they start doing too much and they start letting you know that actually, you’ve been living in their head rent-free and you had no idea,” she added.
“Opalite” and “Actually Romantic” are just two tracks seemingly filled with Easter eggs on The Life of a Showgirl, and since we’re just two days into the album’s release, you can rest assured there’ll be plenty more lyrics to investigate by microscope-wielding fans.
