Patrick Mahomes won’t be the only Kansas City Chiefs player with special abilities in the upcoming installment of the “Madden NFL” video game franchise. These special abilities have been added to this year’s edition of the game to make playing with each individual player feel more authentic.
Madden-School.com has compiled a list of every ability announced for offensive and defensive players so far. The only other Chiefs player to have access to abilities right now is Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Keep in mind this game is still in development and everything is subject to change before the game is officially released.
Kelce has an “X-Factor” ability and two superstar abilities. His X-Factor ability is called “Double Me.” According to Madden-School.com, this ability allows for an increased success rate for aggressive catches against single coverage. In order to activate the ability, you need to make multiple catches of 20 or more yards, but if you drop passes you’ll lose access to the ability.
Seven other players have this ability, so it isn’t exactly as special as some of those that Mahomes has access to. However, the ability is deserving for Kelce, who is one of the most difficult players to match up against in 1-on-1 coverage.
Kelce’s superstar abilities are “In Out Elite” and “Double-Move Elite.” The first ability improves Kelce’s ability to catch the ball when running in and out routes. The second ability allows for an increased success rate against man coverage when using a double move.
“Madden NFL 20” will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Aug. 2.
