Travis Barker has been defended by his daughter Alabama after fans criticised the Blink-182 drummer for gifting her lingerie for Christmas.
The 50-year-old musician, who is married to Kourtney Kardashian, came under scrutiny after Alabama shared an extensive Christmas and birthday haul on social media, revealing several lingerie items from luxury brand Agent Provocateur.
Alabama, who turned 20 on Christmas Eve, posted a near 10-minute video showing off dozens of presents, including bras, corsets, robes and lingerie sets. Introducing the segment, she told followers: “So my dad went a little crazy at Agent Provocateur.”
The clip quickly divided opinion, with some viewers describing the gifts as inappropriate. However, Alabama was swift to shut down the criticism, taking to TikTok to defend her father and clarify how the items were chosen.
“Why are you guys trying to make this lingerie thing a thing? It’s never going to be a thing,” she said, referencing Mean Girls.
“Kourtney picked out the lingerie. Kourtney. You think my dad’s like, ‘I’m going to pick out my daughter’s lingerie?’ No. It was on my Christmas list.”
She added: “God forbid a girl wants cute bras and panties. Literally leave me alone.”
Alabama later joked that the backlash had put her off sharing future gift hauls, telling fans: “I’m literally never doing another Christmas haul. I hate you guys.”
During the video, Alabama explained that Kardashian — her stepmother — selected the pieces in-store, with assistance from staff who “know her” and made recommendations. Among the items shown were sheer corsets, bedazzled lingerie, a cheetah-print slip dress and a red tulle robe retailing for £795.
While many fans praised the haul — which also included gifts from Kylie Jenner — others expressed discomfort, particularly with Alabama’s comment about her father shopping at the lingerie store.
One TikTok user wrote: “‘So my dad went a little crazy at Agent Provocateur’ is a wild thing to say.”
The clip was also widely discussed on Reddit, where some users labelled the situation “weird”, while others argued that Barker simply paid for items chosen by his wife.
Supporters pointed out that Alabama is an adult and praised Barker for maintaining a close, open relationship with his daughter. One commenter wrote: “My dad gives my mum the money and she picks out lingerie — it’s from both of them.”
Despite having her own home, Alabama frequently stays with Barker and Kardashian, who share one-year-old son Rocky as part of their blended family. Alabama’s relationship with her mother, Shanna Moakler, has been strained in the past but is believed to be on better terms now.
The full haul is estimated to be worth more than $200,000 (£148,000), a relatively modest sum for Barker, whose net worth is thought to be around $50 million (£39.5 million).
