Arguably the most popular TV series of the last month was ESPN’s documentary, “The Last Dance.” It focused on the 1998 Bulls, who completed their second threepeat led by Michael Jordan.
Athletes from all sports tuned in to the weekly event, including Rams linebacker Travin Howard. He loved the series and said it was “much-needed,” but it didn’t change his stance on the LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate.
He still thinks LeBron is the greatest basketball player of all time. Here’s what Howard said in a recent interview with TheRams.com.
“Watching the documentary was much needed. Getting to actually see what the generation before me saw. Seeing the hard work, skill and his attitude, I can see why people crown him the GOAT! That being said, LeBron is still the GOAT. I don’t care.”
This is an opinion a lot of people hold, mostly a younger generation, though. There’s no denying the greatness of either player and it’s easy to make a case for each of them being the best ever, but “The Last Dance” shed some light on Jordan’s greatness for a generation that didn’t get to watch him live.
Howard isn’t the only Rams player to share his thoughts on “The Last Dance.” Johnny Hekker recently sided with Gary Payton, saying he “put the mitts on Michael Jordan” despite Jordan denying he had any trouble against “The Glove.”
