Travelodge wants a dozen new hotels in Wales - this is where they want them

Hotel brand Travelodge wants a dozen new hotels in Wales.

The firm has a target of adding another 20,000 bedrooms in the UK by 2025.

It will mean scores of new hotels built every year despite a difficult 2020 for the whole hotel sector.

They have a list of sites in Wales in their UK Target Locations.

In North Wales they are interested in coming to Pwllheli and Wrexham, with planning already secured by a developer for the Gwynedd site.

In Mid-Wales, Travelodge is interested in coming to Aberystwyth and also finding a site in Powys, in either Welshpool or Newtown.

They also want two hotels in Pembrokeshire.

A spokesman said: "Travelodge is seeking the very best hotel locations in each of its target areas.

"In order to afford these, we actively encourage developers to incorporate the hotel as part of a mixed use scheme, above, alongside or below any other appropriate user."

Last week Business Live revealed that Premier Inn also had a second strong target list in Wales.
