Travelodge set to reopen hotel in Nottingham with coronavirus safety measures

Budget hotel chain, Travelodge, has announced it is reopening a further 100 hotels including two in Nottingham.

The reopening of the Nottingham Wollaton Park Travelodge and the East Midlands Airport Donington Park M1 Travelodge marks the company’s halfway milestone of reopening its estate of 573 UK hotels.

During lockdown, 62 Tavelodge sites remained open to support keyworkers, vulnerable groups and local authorities.

Drawing on this experience, the company has now invested in a multi-million pound Covid-19 safety and social distance programme called Travelodge Protect + which will feature in all hotels.

The programme includes increased antiviral cleaning methods, protective screens, hand sanitiser stations and to minimise contact, housekeeping will not enter customer rooms during their stay.

As hotels are currently not allowed to operate their restaurants, Travelodge has launched a new version of its popular breakfast box that customers can purchase from their hotel reception desk or online.

Spokeswoman for Travelodge, Shakila Ahmed, said: “We are delighted to reach the halfway milestone in our hotel reopening programme with the reopening of a further two properties in Nottingham.

"The hotels are open for business from this week and the team are set for a busy summer season as we welcome customers back

"With safety at the forefront of our business, we have worked closely with our hotel teams that stayed open during the lockdown, government and industry bodies to develop our new Covid-19 safety programme."
