Travelodge offers more jobs to time-strapped parents with flexible hours to fit around the school run

Travelodge has launched another phase of its recruitment programme to encourage parents to get back into work.

The hotel chain is offering mums and dads the chance to get jobs with a 'variety of hours' to fit around the school run and other parenting duties.

Of its 567 operating hotels, the firm is aiming to fill 1,500 jobs across the country, with around 20 positions in Manchester - all of which will offer flexible hours.

The roles include housekeeping, receptionist, hotel managers, bar staff and supervisors.

Research by the chain found that 30 per cent of parents say they can't find a job that fits around the school run.

Travelodge spokeswoman, Rebecca Baker, said: "We have been astounded by the tremendous feedback we have received from mums and dads in all corners of the UK for our new parents recruitment programme.

"This response reinforces our research and highlights that Britain has a vast untapped pool of parents who want to work but want to avoid the costs of school wraparound care.

"We have made it our mission to help unemployed parents return to work in the hospitality sector.

"With a growing network of over 560 hotels across the country, we have a strong established workforce of working parents, offering jobs close to home, flexible hours that can work around the school run, benefits that suit families and a career path into management specifically for mums and dads."

In an advert on their recruitment page, Travelodge says that half of their team members 'are parents who work a whole variety of hours and shifts' and joining the company means 'you can drop the kids at school and pick them up, have a local job, get some great benefits and work with amazing people.'

When the Travelodge Working Parents programme first started at the beginning of the year, they received 45,000 applications filling 3,000 positions across its UK hotels.
