Travellers set up on Queens Drive park and ride site near Clifton Bridge

Travellers have set up on the park and ride site in Queens Drive.

Around six caravans have pitched-up on the site which is situated just off the Dunkirk Island and A52, Clifton Bridge, which has been partially closed since February 6.

The park and ride site, opposite the Riverside Retail Park, connects hundreds of commuters and shoppers via buses to the city centre and the Queen's Medical Centre.

There are more than 900 parking spaces and it is thought the travellers set up overnight between Wednesday, February 12, and Thursday, February 13, ahead of rush-hour.

Nottingham City Council's website page states the car park is intended for daily use and no-one is permitted to park overnight.

The council will be contacted in due course to find out more.
