A group of travellers that set up camp on an Earlestown car park remain on the premises despite being handed a 24 hour notice to leave by the council.
The notice was served on September 29, however on visiting the site today (October 4) travellers remain on the car park.
Four large caravan motor homes could be seen parked up on the site on St John Street in St Helens.
The noticed handed to the travellers was a Section 77 notice which gives a 24 hour period to vacate the area.

Local councillor Seve Gomez-Aspron said: "After serving notice to leave, the caravans remain on the car park. The summons is now with the court to be signed and served and then eviction can take place.
"Again, it’s a car park, not a camp site. Anyone pitching caravans on it would be dealt with in the same way."
There had been some complaints from residents close to the car park of the travellers dumping waste onto the area.
Legal action will now take place to evict the travellers from the site.
