Travellers pitch up in Manor Farm Recreation Ground in Toton

Travellers with a horsebox have pitched up in a Nottinghamshire park.

A number of caravans, vans and other vehicles have been seen parked on the playing field at Manor Farm Recreation Ground on the morning of Tuesday, June 29.

Manor Farm Recreation Ground, just off High Road in Toton, is a popular park with football pitches, a cricket square, a horse riding area and tennis courts.

It is managed by Broxtowe Borough Council.

Typically any unauthorised encampment on council land leads to a notice to leave being served by the council, and if the occupiers fail to leave bailiffs can be instructed to carry out eviction.

The council has been contacted for comment.
