Travellers pitch up again on playing fields near to Nottingham's Victoria Embankment

Travellers have pitched up again at a popular Nottingham beauty spot.

Two groups of caravans and cars were spotted parked up on The Meadows Recreation Ground next to the Victoria Embankment.

There were around six vans in total.

The playing field is often a popular spot for games of cricket and football. Families also enjoy sitting there on sunny days.

A spokesman for Nottingham City Council told Nottinghamshire Live the authority is currently organising bailiffs to serve notice on the group to leave on Tuesday, August 11.

Nottinghamshire Live reported how travellers pitched up in the same spot on June 28 - when they were also served notice to leave on the same day.
