Travel warning as hundreds of flights to European tourist destination to be affected

  • A general strike is planned across Portugal for 3 June, involving multiple trade unions , including cabin crew and transport workers.
  • The strike, called by the CGTP umbrella union, protests government labour reforms that would ease employee dismissals and lift outsourcing caps.
  • Around 500 flights are expected to be disrupted, potentially affecting airlines such as Tap Air, easyJet, and Ryanair, according to the SNPVAC cabin crew union.
  • Public transport, including Lisbon and Porto Metros, will also be impacted as the FECTRANS transport union joins the industrial action.
  • Tap Air is offering passengers with tickets for 3 June flights the option to change their travel dates without additional charges.
