Extra Garda checkpoints were erected around the Kildare area after up to 30 vehicles arrived at a popular tourist spot last week.
Motorists drove as far as 80km from neighbouring Carlow to the Curragh with many hoping to stay in the Sunnyhill and Ballysax areas.
As a result, officers from the Kildare district set up additional checkpoints to try and uncover any rulebreakers travelling to and from the hotspot.
Those found in breach of the restrictions were handed on-the-spot fines with the extra operation lasting from Wednesday, ahead of the Bank Holiday, until Easter Monday.
A Garda spokesman said: "The Health Act 1947 (Section 31A-Temporary Restrictions) (Covid-19) (No.10) Regulations 2020, as amended, are currently in force.
"In supporting the Covid-19 public health guidelines and regulations, An Garda Síochána has and will continue to adopt, a graduated policing response based on its tradition of policing by consent. This has seen Gardaí engage, educate, encourage and, as a last resort, enforce.
"Where Gardaí identify potential breaches of the public health regulations a file is prepared for the DPP in each case or a Fixed Payment Notice is issued where appropriate."
