Travel news: new flights to Sicily, posh loos at Glasto, and anyone for a tennis trip?

What's new?

Flight
There's a new way to explore Sicily from 18 September, when Ryanair adds a route to Comiso, in the south-east of the island, from £82 return from Stansted, on Wednesdays and Sundays. The city is near sandy beaches, unspoilt countryside and Baroque towns Noto, Modica, Ragusa and a little further, Syracuse.

Adventure
The election of Hassan Rouhani as president of Iran could be good news for tourists, according to tour operators. Wild Frontiers has offered trips there for 10 years, with no problems, but says visas have to be processed by the Iranian consulate in Dublin, which makes them expensive, while the FCO warning against travel there puts people off, and invalidates most travel insurance (though Wild Frontiers offers a policy). MD Jonny Bealby said he hoped the election would mean a period of detente when these restrictions may be relaxed.
